The only time Online Booking is essential is when there is an event at Sandy Feet Farm, such as Easter, Halloween and Christmas. This to guarantee entry and to manage number sizes.
We allow one carer free admission per special need child/adult. You do NOT need to book a ticket, but you will be asked to produce a valid carers card on arrival. Failure to produce a valid careers card means you will be asked to pay for admission.
Any child aged under the age of 2 years is free of charge. If the child is aged two or over is charged the usual admission rate.
Not only is Sandy Feet Farm fully accessible for visitors in wheelchairs, we also have a wheelchair accessible swing and round-a-bout in the playground.
Access to:
- The outdoor farm
- Play ground, including go-karts
- Animal barn
- Tractor-trailer ride
- Animal feeding at specified times
When we opened the farm, we decided that our animals were much happier living outside rather than living in indoor pens for visitors to view. We have therefore moved most animals to the fields outside where they have access to lots of outdoor space. As a result, our animals are much happier and healthier!
We rotate the animals indoor for visitors to see, depending on time of year and animal needs.
We have a small animals shed for visitors who want to see our smaller pets, such as rabbits and guinea pigs.
We are an outdoor attraction, with outdoor play areas. We recognise that sometimes visitors need shelter in a shower so we do have a small indoor area and a small animals shed as part of the farm.
As we are a seasonal attraction we are only open in the warmer months of the year (Spring to October) and therefore all the play is outdoor. There is also an on-site café where you can take shelter with a great coffee while a shower passes.
We are open every weekend and school holiday between March to the end of August. Sandy Feet Farm is open daily 10am to 5.00pm, last entry 4.00 pm. We also open for seasonal events at Halloween and Christmas.
Some school holidays can differ so check our opening times on google or face book before you visit.
We recommend checking the weather forecast for the day of your visit and dress appropriately. On wet days, or if there has been heavy rain recently, it is advisable to wear welly boots and a coat. For warmer weather please come prepared with sun cream, hats, sunglasses etc. It may also be useful to check the pollen count if anyone in your family suffers from hay fever.
It is essential that customers practise good hand hygiene when visiting the farm – children & adults. Outdoor spaces and animals have bacteria which you may not encounter in day to day life and therefore we ask you to wash your hands with soap and water (not gel) after touching animals and before eating.
We have designed the layout of the farm in a way which minimises the risk to our visitors but please take responsibility for your own children and stop them from eating whilst touching animals and be aware of the potential risks such as not using dummies once dropped on the ground etc.
Our answer to this is yes absolutely! All we ask you to do is be very careful with your hand hygiene and maybe not pet the animals. During the lambing season it may be wise to stay away from the lambing sheds although the risk to you is low.
