SAFTY AND HYGIENE

We hope you enjoy your day at Sandy Feet Farm, to help ensure that you do we ask you to follow the simple rules listed below. If you have any questions just ask.
  • Children must be supervised by their accompanying adult at all times.
  • For hygiene, public safety and animal welfare no picnics are allowed. Food is available for purchase and to be consumed in the Sandy Feet Café.
  • Harmful bacteria can be found on open farms. Pregnant women need to take particular care and specifically should avoid contact with lambs and their droppings.
  • Smoking is not allowed on site.

Do Not...
  • Enter fields or enclosures. Staff are happy to help you hold/rub/feed animals if it is possible
  • put hands on faces or fingers in mouths while petting animals or walking around the farm.
  • Kiss farm animals or allow children to put their faces close to animals.
  • Eat or drink while touching animals or walking around the farm. This includes eating sweets, crisps or chewing gum.
  • Eat anything that has fallen on the floor.
  • Use gels or wipes as a substitute for washing hands because these do not remove E. coli O157.

Do…
  • Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and warm water provided at indoor and outdoor sinks...
  • After you have touched animals, fences or other surfaces in animal areas.
  • Before eating or drinking.
  • After removing dirty shoes or boots that have been worn on the farm.
  • Supervise children closely to ensure that they wash their hands thoroughly.
  • Eat and drink in cafe only.
