We are very proud of our new Café building, built on the site of the O’Shea family home which dated from the early 18oo’s. Unfortunately due to it’s condition and lack of foundation, we were unable to renovate it. However, with the home holding very happy memories for both John and Roy, it was important for us to honor it in some way. So…when you stand in the building and look at the north-facing gable you can see the print of the old family home – to the exact measurements. The windows were places exactly as they were in the old house. Anywhere else you see glass is an extension of the old house. The bricks in the fireplace are from the fireplace in the old house. The stone from the old family home was reused at the front and sides of the new building and in the walls around it. We think it looks amazing!!
